Time for a change...

Much as I thought I would enjoy having this singular blog to vent about my frustrations and celebrate the joys of living a Childfree life....I find that I need to simplify things.

So, I've created a new blog-Coffee, Chaos and Cuss Words! I'll import the articles I've shared here and I'll be posting about my Childfree life there. In addition, it will be a blog more in keeping with this stage of my life. I'm 51, menopausal and definitely a true, eclectic Witch with a seeking soul and daily spiritual practices.

I do hope you'll join me at the new blog. Come January, this site will be no more. It's time for a change and I'm up to the challenge....I hope you are, too!

*UPDATE* I wrote this blog back in 2014. I certainly have had quite a bit happen in my life since then (more on that in another post.) It was a couple of years after my parents passed, before my life-changing move to California, before the recent pandemic, and before my husband's crippling disability took hold. The one thing I can certainly say without hesitation is the my spiritual beliefs and practices have kept me sane, balanced and happy through it all. Cutting ties...

Being the executrix for my parent's estate has been like an endurance trial with a moving finish line. Never, at any point of this ordeal has this felt like it has gotten easier. The reason is my because my crazy siblings have a knack for creating chaos just when it seems I'm handling things well. At those brief moments when I think I am able to see the light at the end of the tunnel....*WHAM*!! Nope, just the headlights of another sibling truck making a delivery from Crazytown... It's the manipulation that gets me the most. My brother has been downright abusive in his quest to rule the world  get his 'inheritance'. Despite frequent reassurances from me that I'm doing what I can to settle all the business of the estate, he insists I do more and get him cash faster. At times he has relayed his wishes with extreme profanity and verbal abuse...other times with selective memory and invitations to Thanksgiving dinner. My Triple Goddess- The Crone- Grandmother Moon & Baba Yaga

The issues I have had with learning to connect with the Crone goddess are rooted in what the ‘rules’ are that have been handed down from some of my peers. At nearly 47, I am not considered ‘old enough’ for some to be in my Crone years. However, physically I have begun the roller coaster ride of Menopause and know this is not going to be a dull trip! I have never had children, and it has been tough relating to the transition from Maiden to Mother and then to Crone. Early on during my spiritual seeking, when I was a much younger woman, even my Pagan and Wiccan sisters had no words of wisdom for me. As someone who never planned to have children, it was just assumed that I would change my mind someday and ‘then I would understand’ the true role of the Triple Goddess.
